Kurunegala hospital :
Underground passage opens today

The first underground passage constructed at a cost of Rs.43 million
to proceed to the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital will be opened by
Highways and Road Development Minister T. B. Ekanayake at 6 pm on April
10.
Funds for the project has been allocated by the Ministry of Highways
and Roads Development under the direction of President Mahinda Rajapaksa
.
The underground passage also consists of four rooms for
pharmaceuticals and other needs of the patients.
A special security chamber and administrative unit have been set up
in the tunnel for the convenience of patients.
The new underground passage will provide facilities to all
pedestrians who come for medical treatment from hospital, office workers
and schoolchildren as the main road runs parallel to the hospital.
"Minister Ekanayake was very keen to conclude the project as soon as
possible and allocated funds through his Ministry considering public
welfare" Ministry Media sources said. |
