Imantha's brave act

Twelve year old Imantha Siriwardena who won the Under-13 Racing event up to 85cc would not come to the podium to accept the trophy on Sunday at the Carlton Super Cross as his father Ajith Siriwardena passed away on the previous day.

Ajith was on the track on Saturday watching his son at practice when he fell sick and was rushed to hospital where he died.

Imantha decided to compete on the following day to keep his promise to win at Tissa which he achieved with great success. After his victory youngster was rushed home to see his father's body.

This courageous young sportsman will be remembered by all racing fans for many more years for his brave act.
