Cargills Food City celebrated its 25th anniversary launch of 25 new outlets with the Doren Dorata Road Show partnered by Sirasa FM covering 360 locations in 60 days. Through this road show Cargills Food City provided rural farmers and entrepreneurs the chance to win prizes worth over Rs. 5 million.

"At the end of the Road Show the correct entries were selected and Cargills Food city gave away valuable prizes to the rural farming communities," said Marketing Manager, Retail, Cargills (Ceylon) PLC, Charaka Perera.

Gifts included tractors, Dimo Batta vehicles, three-wheelers, Land masters, boats and other agriculture equipment, specifically targeting the needs of rural agriculture communities.

Cargills Food City also gave away more than Rs. 38 million to the Sri Lankan public through amazing discounts, instant prizes and draws.

"With this Doren Dorata road show we want to strengthen the relationship we have built with rural areas in Sri Lanka and its agriculture communities. We wanted them to be a part of the celebrations as well as gain value from their participation just as they gained value from their partnership with Cargills. Even in our celebrations we wanted to ensure that we create value for all stakeholders of our business," said Executive Director, Retail at Cargills, Sidath Kodikara.

Cargills currently partners thousands of farmers and smallholder entrepreneurs through its unique backward integration system. Cargills Food City uses its widespread retail network covering 136 locations, coupled with its direct link with the agricultural community and small and medium entrepreneurs to bring affordable and nutritious food to all Sri Lankans.
