Drop in CSE Indices
CSE Indices declined yesterday with the ASI losing 12 points (-0.7%)
to 1,749 while the liquid MPI shed 26 points (-1.4%) to close at 1,857
points.
Diversified heavyweight John Keells Holdings (JKH) dominated trading,
accounting for 42% of total turnover.
The counter brought in Rs. 44.5 million out of the day's revenue of
Rs.106 million. JKH gained Rs. 2.25 (+3.5%) to close at Rs. 65.25.
Ceylinco Insurance (CINS) contributed Rs. 17.9 million. The share closed
at Rs. 173.25, losing 25 cents or -0.14%. Coco Lanka (COCO) accounted
for Rs. 15 million, ending the day at Rs. 20.75 (down 25 cents or -1.1%)
Asian markets saw indices declining with Japan's Nikkei 225 at 7,705
(-240 points), India's BSE Sensex 30 at 9,475 (-142 points) and Hong
Kong's Hang Seng at 13,228 (-310 points)
