Suspect helped suicide bomber arrested

A suspect who had aided and abetted the LTTE suicide bomber who took
the life of North Central Provincial Council Opposition Leader Maj.Gen.
Janaka Perera and several others at Anuradhapura on October 6 last year
was arrested by the OIC of the Medawachchiya Police at Neriyakulam,
Siyambalagaskada around 5 am yesterday.
Police headquarters in a press release said the suspect named
Aboosally Jabir of Neshiyakulam, Mankulam on interrogation had admitted
that he helped the suicide bomber to travel past Medawachchiya during
his mission.
Investigations are continuing.
