Shameera excels for Joes

Skipper Shameera Weerasinghe snapped up four wickets for 59 to help St. Joseph's College snatch a close first innings lead of six runs over Mahinda College Galle in their low scoring inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which ended in a draw at Darley Road yesterday.

St. Joseph's: 165 and 115 (J. Jayasinghe 32, S. Weerasinghe 22, N. Tharaka 4 for 9, U. Buddhika 3 for 39).

Mahinda: 159 (U. Buddhika 57, D. Rajakaruna 28, S. Weerasinghe 4 for 59, D. Dhambarage 3 for 45) and 54 for 4 (D. Rajakaruna 27 n.o, T. Rajasuriya 2 for 18).

Joes: past vs present

The annual limited overs cricket match between St. Joseph's College and their old boys team will be played at Darley Road today.
