Nine bootleggers in police net

Police raids on illicit breweries conducted in Nikaweratiya and Mahawa police divisions have resulted in the seizere of 1,920 drams of goda and huge quantity of moonshine along with the arrest of nine suspects involved in the trade.

Meanwhile, Walana-Panadura Anti Vice Squad, in a raid conducted in Kandana police division have seized 7,200 drams of moonshine and 110,100 drams of goda in 50 barrels together with distilling implements from the brewery.

Galgamuwa police seized a tractor allegedly transporting sand without a licence and arrested two suspects.
