Moratu Vidyalaya rout Matale Thomians

A splendid knock of 122 runs with twelve hits to the ropes and seven
over the ropes by Malinga Bandara enabled Moratu Vidyalaya to trounce
St. Thomas' College, Matale by an innings and 26 runs in their
inter-school under-19 cricket tournament match played at Moratuwa.
So far Vidyalians have recorded eight outright victories from their
ten outings and Ananda College leading with nine and Royal College too
eight.
Vidyalians piled up 300 runs in reply to Thomains total of 152 runs
and in their second essay visitors collapsed for 122 runs.
Chatura Hemakumara took 4 for 22 in the first inning while Chatura
Vithane cliamed 5 for 22 in the second essay for the homesters.
Highlight of the game was a 126 run stand for the fourth wicket
between Malinga Bandara and Skipper Lasitha Mendis for Vidyalians.
