Royal in commanding position
Royal College were well set to pull off another outright victory
after dominating the opening day's play in their inter-school under 19
cricket tournament match against Dharmaraja College, Kandywhich began at
Reid Avenue yesterday.
After piling up a formidable 255 runs in their first innings Royal
College put up a superb performance on the field to skittle out the
Rajans for a paltry 64 runs during the final session.

Opener Andy Berenger hit a solid half century as St. Peter's College
reached 143 for 3 in reply to Maris Stella's first innings total of 166
runs on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket
tournament match which commenced at Bambalapitiya yesterday.

Shameera leads Joes recovery
Skipper Shameera Weerasinghe hit a splendid 106 with one six and 14
boundaries as St. Joseph's College recovered from 84 for 5 to reach an
impressive 248 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their
105th annual inter school cricket encounter against S. Thomas College
worked off at Darley Road yesterday.
