Minister opens bridge on Monday

The newly-constructed suspension bridge linking Waddeniya and the Colombo-Kurunegala main road over Maoya will be commissioned by Labour Relations and Manpower Minister Athauda Seneviratne on Monday (2).

The new bridge has been constructed at a large cost. The earlier bridge was destroyed by floods in 1978. Nearly 2,000 families in the villages of Gorakgahamada, Ambakumbura, Borukgamuwa, Karapane, Thambewila and Waddeniya will benefit.
