CTC rated 'Platinum' for Corporate Accountability
The Ceylon Tobacco Company (CTC) PLC has been awarded the highest
rating in the country's first ever 'report card' on corporate
accountability. The company which strives to be a benchmark in corporate
excellence, is one of four corporate entities to score more than the 90
per cent required for Platinum status in the inaugural benchmarking
exercise undertaken by STING Consultants.
The LMD Magazine in its report said, "At CTC, accountability
permeates every aspect of business. This, perhaps, is because the
tobacco industry is under pressure from special interests groups and
this, in turn, has compelled it to pursue a goal of becoming a model of
accountability.
It leaves no stone unturned in its pursuit of excellence, ensuring
that most aspects of accountability are addressed.
It has robust processes in place, which are constantly monitored and
improved on and challenging targets on which it reports to its
shareholders and stakeholders alike."
"Corporate accountability has been an integral part of CTC's success
story over the years.
With over 75 years as a registered company in Sri Lanka, Ceylon
Tobacco Company stands strong with a proud heritage of Good Corporate
Governance and Accountability," said Mustanser Ali Khan CEO CTC.
