FMM: Sunanda resigns
Free Media Movement (FMM) Media Spokesman Sunanda Deshapriya has
resigned from all the posts he held in the Movement with effect from
January 13 citing security reasons.
Deshapriya in a letter to the Free Media Movement Secretary has said
that he is unable to appear in public due to security concerns.
However, FMM sources yesterday said Deshapriya has resigned to evade
investigations initiated by the FMM into his financial dealings.
FMM sources said he held the posts of Project Director, Media
Spokesman and Co-ordinator on International Affairs in the Movement. It
is also said that several international and local organisations funding
the FMM have demanded his resignation.
