With the capture of Kilinochchi, the citadel of terrorism by the Security Forces, signal is given that the end of Prabhakaran’s terrorism is close at hand, states Ven. Galagama Sri Anthadassi Nayaka Thera, Anunayaka of Asgiri Chapter.

The President Mahinda Rajapaksa who gave the correct leadership to the Forces deserves the highest encomiums of the world community, the Ven. Thera said. “Terrorism ought to be crushed to enable the posterity to live without fear or suspicion,” he stressed.

Kilinochchi victory by our heroic Forces is proof of the world that terrorism has no places in human history, states Ven. Niyangoda Vijithasiri Nayaka Thera, the Anunayake of Malwate Chapter.

The Ven. Nayaka Thera said despite claims that Kilinochchi could not be captured at all, it proved that under correct leadership every victory can be achieved.

The dislodgment of Kilinochchi is proof to the separatists, their NGO buddies and other separatist brokers and imperialist agents that the Tigers can be uprooted.

The dedication and sacrifices made by the Forces to the cause of the victory is supreme.

It is the responsibility of the entire nation to provide the necessary strength and courage to the Security Forces who are engaged in a mission to open the road to democracy to the unarmed Tamil civilians kept hostage by the Tiger terrorists.

Capture of Kilinochchi should be enshrined in gold

The capture of Kilinochchi, the main administrative base of the so-called Eelam by our historic forces will be enshrined in Mahawansa in gold.

To celebrate the event, the Lion Flag should be hoisted in all houses, business premises, churches, temples, kovils, and vehicles.

The Defence Secretary, political leadership, Service Commanders and the heroic soldiers deserve the accolades of the Nation for their part in making the victory a reality.

Kilinochchi victory due to unshakable leadership of President Rajapaksa

The capture of Kilinochchi by our heroic Forces will be enshrined in Sri Lanka’s history in gold. President Mahinda Rajapaksa has designated year 2009 as the ‘year of heroic victory’.

The SLFP congratulates the President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Army Commander Lt. General Sarath Fonseka, the other service commanders and the gallant soldiers who fought with fortitude for the victory they won. Velupillai Prabhakaran who boasted that entry to Kilinochchi would be a dream for the Security Forces has suffered the greatest defeat in history.

Although the defeat of terrorism was a challenge itself, the victory is at hand due to the unshakable leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The victory is a blessing to those thousands who were maimed by the terrorist attacks and to the persecuted Tamil community living in Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi.

Efforts on the part of the UNP and all other forces who attempt to discourage the military operations and mislead the people through comspiracies will also be defeated as a result of the victory.

The objective of the government headed by President Mahinda Rajapaksa is to unite Sri Lanka and provide the opportunity to all sections of the population to live without fear and suspicion.

Nations’ salute to the Security Forces

Our heroic forces have captured the Kilinochchi town, the main citadel of the Tiger terrorists. It became their administrative base after the CFA was signed.

All these time, the Tiger terrorists maintained that Kilinochchi was impregnable and its capture was only a day dream of the Government.

Today our gallant Forces have hoisted the national flag in Kilinochchi. The National Freedom Front pays its tribute to the heroic solders, their parents and their family members as well. Once terrorism is defeated the need is for an economic socio-political and cultural renaissance.
