Following O/L maths paper controversy:

Confidential Board to be reconstituted

The Education Ministry will reconstitute the Confidential Board of experts that has been entrusted with the task of preparing G.C.E. Ordinary Level papers on the recommendations of two committees appointed by Education Minister Susil Premajayantha and Commissioner of Examinations Anura Edirisinghe to look into the reported shortcomings in the G.C.E. O/L Maths paper II.

According to Education Minister Premajayantha, these committees in two separate reports have concluded that the students should not face any injustice in the settlement of this issue and recommended that a fresh examination be held for the benefit of all students. The Minister said the committees have accepted that students could not answer the questions in the Maths paper II within the given time frame due its complexity.
