Buddhist delegation leaves for Japan

A special delegation headed by Sri Lanka Agonshu Friendship Foundation Director General, Rohana Kirthi, Sasanabandu Somasiri. A. Patherana will leave for Japan to participate in the December 30 birth anniversary celebrations of most Ven. Seiu Kiriyama Thera head of Agonshu Nikaya and founder of Agonshu Viharaya.

Shastrapathi, Ven. Omare Kassapa Thera, Advisor on Religious Affairs, Education Ministry is also a member of the delegation. The Sri Lanka Agonshu Foundation has granted 7,770 scholarships to Sri Lankan children, whilst 710 youths have been given vocational training. Facilities for libraries as well as temples too have been provided by the Foundation. Ven. Bopitiya Vijitha Thera, Ven. Guluwita Siri Nivasa Nayaka Thera, Ven. Urumutte Sugathananda Thera, Ven. Makandure Siriratana Thera, Ven. Bedigama Nandasiri Thera, Ven. Lelwala Samita Thera andVen. Urugamuwe Assaji Thera will also join.
