Honorary title awarded

S.M. Shahabdeen has been awarded the title Kalabushanam at a ceremony organised by the Cultural Affairs Ministry at the John De Silva Theatre under the patronage of Religious Affairs Minister Pandu Bandaranayake.

He was selected for the award in recognition of his contribution in the field of media. He is a prolific writer whose contributions had been published in all the Tamil national dailies in Sri Lanka.

Shahabdeen is a Coordinating Officer to the Minister of Housing and Common Amenities. He is also a Director of Sri Lanka Social Security Board and the National Coordinator for Voice for Human Rights.
