Development plan, a boon to H'tota

The greater Hambantota Development Project plan has been released by the Urban Development Authority (UDA).

It consists of residential area, mixed development zone, commercial zone, public and semi-public zone, heavy industrial zone, forest conservation zone, wildlife conservation zone, cultural conservation zone, airport and airport related activisties zone, sea port and sea port activities related zone and agriculture zone (paddy).

An administration complex and an international convention centre similar to BMICH also comes under the project.

A beach park along the coastal belt from the heart of the Hambantota town is another proposal.
