Bloomfield heading for outright win

Bloomfield put themselves in contention for an outright victory by bundling out Baduraliya CC for a paltry 63 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match which commenced at the R. Premadasa Stadium yesterday.

Naleen Pradeep returned excellent figures of four wickets for 19 with Tyronne Gamage and Tharanga Lakshitha capturing two wickets each. Bloomfield then went on take a massive first innings lead with Saman Jayantha leading the way.

The dashing opener hammered a splendid 106 with one six and ten boundaries as Bloomfield finished the day at 223 for 6.

Baduraliya CC: 63 (C. Vithanage 18, N. Pradeep 4 for 19, T. Gamage 2 for 11, T. Lakshitha 2 for 20).

Bloomfield: 223 for 6 (S. Jayantha 106, C. Silva 38 n.o, Y. de Silva 30, T. Masmulla 21, A. Ratnayake 2 for 18).

Moratuwa SC pile up 393 for 7

Skipper Harsha de Silva hit a magnificent 130 not out to help Moratuwa SC reach a formidable 393 for 7 in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Premier League Tier B tournament match against Lankan CC which commenced at Katunayake yesterday.

Moratuwa SC: 393 for 7 (H. de Silva 134 n.o, C. Rupasinghe 54, S. Fernando 30, P. Hewage 3 for 45) v Lankan CC.

Air Force on top

Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Club were well placed at 73 for 2 in reply to Sebastianites SC’s first innings total of 179 runs on the opening day of their SLC Premier League Tier B tournament match which commenced at Moratuwa yesterday.

Sebastianites SC: 179 (K. Fernando 31, D. Perera 24, P. Jayasundera 26, A. Karunaratne 3 for 62, S. Madanayake 3 for 40, A. Rizan 3 for 29).

Air Force SC: 73 for 2 (M. Fernando 29, M. Warnapura 29 n.o.).

Indika props up Ragama CC

Middle order batsman Indika de Saram hit a fighting unbeaten century with nine boundaries to help Ragama CC reach 237 for 7 in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match against Moors SC which commenced at Braybrooke Place yesterday.

Gihan - 78 not out

Middle order batsman Gihan Perera hit a top score of 78 not out to lift BRC to 255 for 7 in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Premier League Tier B tournament match against Singha SC Ambalangoda which commenced at Havelock Park yesterday.

Pubudu wrecks Police SC

Pubudu Priyankara captured five wickets for 50 to help Saracens SC dismiss Sri Lanka Police SC for 165 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Premier League Tier B tournament match which commenced at the Police Park yesterday.
