Management of rest houses to be re-vested with local authorities

Cabinet approved a memorandum submitted by Local Government and Provincial Councils Minister Janaka Bandara Tennekoon to re-vest the administration of selected rest houses managed by the Urban Development Authority with the local authorities, who are the owners of these facilities.

The rest houses in Balangoda, Chilaw, Kalutara, Kadugannawa, Kuliyapitiya, Kegalle, Negombo (Old), Puttalam, Weligama, Vavuniya, Hatton, Thalawakelle and Kurunegala (Old). will be managed by the respective local authorities.
