Acting Sabaragamuwa Chief Minister

Sabaragamuwa Provincial Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine T. Ranjith de Soysa took oaths as the Acting Chief Minister of Sabaragamuwa Province before Governor Saliya Ellawala yesterday.

He will act for Chief Minister Maheepala Herath until he returns from abroad.

Herath is on an official tour of Myanmar and Singapore on the invitation of Ven. Dr. Karandetiyana Gunaratna Nayaka Thera, Director Maha Karuna Buddhist Centre, Singapore.

De Soysa earlier functioned as Provincial Agriculture and Lands Minister during the pre-2008 period.

He is also the SLFP chief organiser for Rakwana.

Governor's Secretary B.A. Nagasinghe, Provincial Health and Indigenous Medicine Ministry Secretary K.M. Ranjith and Governor's Private Secretary Chandanie Ellawala were also present.
