Sri Lanka stood the test of not only the highest calibre of the
contestants placed before this international competition, but also
proved the excellent judging and selection process as five out of the 11
nominees from Sri Lanka were placed at the APICTA in the same order of
ranking as was awarded at the national event.
This speaks of the calibre of the national judging panels who
officiated at the Young Computer Scientist and National Best Quality
Software Awards conducted by the British Computer Society Sri Lanka
Section (BCS).
This year at APICTA 138 products competed under 16 categories.
APICTA was formed by the Asia Pacific ICT Trade/Professional
organisations to develop and promote ICT industry in the region by
recognising and rewarding ICT companies and individual who excel in
delivery of ICT products and services.
It comprises nations such as Australia, China from East to Pakistan
from West through South and South East Asian countries.
BCS Sri Lanka Section as the professional association and the SLASI
as the industry association jointly represent Sri Lanka at the APICTA
since 2004.
Sri Lanka being an active member of APICTA has contributed to develop
Judging criteria and it’s code of operations. |
