Outstation teams for Sepaktakraw Nationals

Teams from Hambantota, Badulla, Nawalapitiya, Kandy and Kurunegala will take part in the Sepaktakraw Nationals 2008 conducted by the Amateur Sepaktakraw Association of Sri Lanka which will be worked off on December 6 and 7 at the Indoor Sports Complex of the University of Colombo. Reid Avenue, Colombo 7, from 8 a.m. onward.

Sepaktakraw is a game similar to Volleyball,instead of using their hands, players are eligible to use their feet, head and shoulders to lob the ball over the net.

The Sepaktakraw Nationals are open to all Sports Associations, Schools, Clubs and Institutions.

Several prizes will be on offer for the winners, runners up and the third placed, teams of the special events such as Regu and Doubles.

Retd. Brigadier T. S. B. Sally a Past President of the former Sepaktakraw Federation will be the Chief Guest on this occasion.

The reigning champions Kolonnawa will receive tough opposition from Old Wesleyites.

Garudas, Army SC and Outstation teams. The Nationals will be conducted under the supervision of the President of the Association Nizan Hajireen, a triple international in rugby, football and Sepaktakraw.
