Prof. Peiris represents President at Clinton Global Initiative

Professor G.L. Peiris, Minister of Export Development and International Trade, left for Hong Kong to participate in the Clinton Global Initiative for Asia as the representative of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The Clinton Global Initiative aims at results, converting pioneering ideas into viable solutions to urgent global challenges.

Its sessions have been attended by heads of state, business leaders, Nobel Peace Prize winners and philanthropists.The meeting in Hong Kong on Tuesday and Wednesday, presided over by former President Bill Clinton, will focus on several themes which include 'Balancing Growth, sustainability and Equity' and 'Overcoming Disparity and Deprivation'.
