Concert for Health and Life Insurance
All singers on stage for the first time:
Munchee Samaga Ridma Tharanga 2008 musical concert will be held at
the BMICH on December 5 at 7.00 p.m. The show is organised by
Outstanding Song Creators Association (OSCA) and sponsored by Ceylon
Biscuits Ltd.(CBL).

OSCA represents all artistes in the musical field such as lyric
writers, Singers, Music Directors and Musicians. Currently OSCA has a
membership of over 225 and is the largest organisation in Sri Lanka
formed to represent a wider section of music artistes.
The pioneers of this organisation are artistes like Pandith Amaradeva,
Prof. Sanath Nandasiri, Dr. Dayaratne Ranatunga, Kalasoori Lata Walpola
Visharada Nanda Malinee, and Victor Ratnayake.
The main objective of organizing the ‘Munchee Samaga Ridma Tharanga’
is to raise funds towards the Health and Life Insurance Scheme and a
host of other benefits implemented for music artistes by the OSCA.
Therefore this show not only provides an opportunity for Sri Lanka
music lovers to enjoy high quality music, but also to contribute towards
the welfare of their favourite artistes who have entertained them over
the years” said a spokesman of the OSCA.
Among the artistes who will perform at the ‘Munchee Samaga Ridma
Tharanga’ are Pandith Amaradeva, Chandrika Siriwardane, Sunil
Edirisinghe, Nelu Adhikari, Dayan Vitharana, Amarasiri Peris, Deepika
Priyadharshanee, Kasun Kalhara, Senanayake Weraliyadda, Sunil Perera,
Shashika Nissansala, Keerthi Pasqual, Ranjanee Perera, Sanath and
Malkanthi Nandasiri, Edward Jayakody, Nirosha Virajinee, Samitha
Mudunkotuwa, Athula Adhikari, Victor Ratnayaka, Rohana Beddage, Nanda
Malinee and Kala Daruwo (Children of Artistes) Pradeepa Dharmadasa,
Shihan Mihiranga, Samantha Perera, Muththalage, Kalawathie, Indika
Upamali, Rajiv Sebastian, Anil Barathi, Namal Udugama and others. On the
occasion of ‘Munchee Samaga Ridma Tharanga’, The OSCA has also made
arrangements to release three music albums containing forty eight brand
new songs.
It is a collective effort of 161 artistes including country’s best
singers, musicians and lyric writers. These three CDs will be available
for sale at the BMICH on December 5. All the OSCA members contributed
their time and talent free of charge to make this task a success.
As a local company this is the second time we came forward to help
local music artistes considering it as one of our social
responsibilities. “While the ‘Munchee Samaga Ridma Tharanga’ show will
help our music artistes to raise funds for their health insurance
