LECO metres for CEB

The country will overcome the current shortage of electricity meters when a local company hands over a stock of 160,000 locally produced meters to the CEB at a meeting presided by Power and Energy Minister W. D. J. Seneviratne at a ceremony at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel at 3 p.m. today (November 26).

LECO has said the new meter is of a high standard and cannot be easily tampered with.

The Ministry said a large number of prospective electricity consumers, especially domestic consumers had been awaiting electricity connections for a long time due to the delay in importing electricity meters.

The new stock of locally manufactured meters would help solve this long standing problem.
