Dull day in Bourse

Stocks hit lows not seen since January 2005, with the ASPI losing 30 points (-1.9%) to end at 1,625. The MPI, which tracks the CSE’s most liquid stocks, lost 28 points (-1.5%) to close at 1,821.

Total turnover for the day was Rs 106 million mainly from Riverina Hotels (Rs 20 million), Distilleries (Rs 18 million) and Dialog Telekom (Rs 13 million). Riverina ended up at Rs 34.25 (a gain of Rs 2.75), while Distilleries closed at Rs 52.75 (down 25 cents). Dialog finished at Rs 6.25, down 25 cents.
