Sampath appoints three to the Board

Sampath Bank has appointed Harris Premaratne CEO (Designate), - (Chief Operating Officer) Aravinda Perera and - (Chief Financial Officer), Ranjith Samaranayake as Executive Directors of the Bank, in terms of Section 42 of the Banking Act.

The appointments of Premaratne and Perera would be with immediate effect, and Samaranayake's appointment will be from January 1, 2009. This is the first time that a Lankan Bank has appointed such a number of employees as its Executive Directors.
