Teams from Jaffna and Batticaloa for Cager Nationals

Fifteen teams including Jaffna BA and Batticaloa BA will take part in
the men's Senior National Basketball Championship conducted by Sri Lanka
Basketball Federation from November 18 to 23 at four venues in Colombo.
The defending champions Mercantile have been drawn into Group 'A'
with Army, Kandy and Badulla while Air Force, University, Puttalam and
Batticaloa are in Group 'B'. Gampaha, Galle and Ratnapura will battle
out in Group 'C' while the four teams vying for honours in Group 'D' are
Police, Colombo BA, Sri Lanka Schools and Jaffna BA.
The preliminary round matches will be played at St. Joseph's Girls
School courts, Nugegoda, Amal International school courts, Colombo
University courts and Depot Police courts.
Nine teams will vie for honours in the women's tournament which will
be conducted at four venues from November 18 to 23 in Colombo. The
women's teams have been divided into two groups Mercantile, Air Force,
Kandy, University and Ratnapura are in Group 'A' while Schools, Colombo
BA, Kurunegala BA and Jaffna have been drawn into Group 'B'.
The women's matches too will be worked off at St. Joseph's Girls
School courts, Nugegoda, Amal International School courts, Colombo
University Courts and Depot Police courts, both semi-finals will be
worked off at St. Joseph's Girls School courts, Nugegoda while the final
will be played at Depot Police courts, Colombo.
The women's final will be worked off on November 23 at Depot Police
courts at 5 pm followed by the men's final at 6.30 pm. |
