Husband's coffin kills woman

A 67-year-old widow was hit in the head by her husband's coffin and died on Monday morning in Southern Brazil. The incident occurred in the small town of Tapes in Southern Rio Grange do Sul State.

According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), Marciana da Silva Barcelos was sitting in the back seat of a pickup truck, which was transporting her husband's coffin to the cemetery in nearby Alvorada town. The truck was on the RS-717 State road when it was hit in the back by an Alfa Romeo car. The strong impact caused the coffin slide forward and crash into the cab, hitting Barcelos in the head. She died instantly.

The PRF said that the drivers of both cars will be questioned and investigations will be made to determine the responsibilities.
