Southland girls, Vidyartha boys Chess Champs
The Inter Schools Junior Chess Championship for U-10 and U-12
conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Chess Association concluded on Sunday
(9) at Nalanda College - Colombo.
The tournament was held under two divisions 'A' and 'B' for leading
schools and for up and coming schools. The tournament commenced on
Friday with over 50 schools participating. Outstation schools
performances was quite remarkable and all girls and boys championships
in both divisions won by these schools.
In the girls 'A' division Randika Abeyesekara (captain of U-12 team)
and Kusara de Silva (captain of U-10 team) of Southlands College, Galle
bagged both titles in their age categories.

Girls College - Kurunegala, 3 - St. Mary's Convent - Matara.

Horagasmulla Primary School - Divulapitiya, 3 - Siridhamma College -
Galle Yasodara B/V, Colombo equal third
