NDB Bank Vishmitha Savings offers a loan with zero interest
Among NDB Bank’s wide-range of savings products is Vishmitha Savings
- an innovative product exclusively offered by NDB Bank. Vishmitha
Savings was introduced in 2007 offering its customers the benefits of
obtaining an interest free loan, after the completion of one year.
It was the first time in Sri Lanka, that a savings account of this
nature was introduced. NDB Bank believes that through Vishmitha, its
customers will not only be able to achieve the long-term goals for which
they save up for, but this will also enhance their lifestyles as
Vishmitha gives its customers the option of taking an interest free loan
up to 75 per cent of their average savings balance after one year.
The higher the account balance, the higher the loan option, while the
available savings balance receives full interest even while the loan
remains outstanding.
It also offers a super high interest rate with no restrictions on
withdrawals. The initial deposit to open a Vishmitha Savings Account is
Rs. 2,000/-.
The loan facility will be available every year. The loan is repayable
in 12 equal monthly instalments by depositing money into the savings
account. The minimum loan one can apply for is Rs. 5,000/-.
If the loan is obtained against the savings account, an amount
equivalent to the average balance will be held under lien until the loan
is fully settled. The same account can be operated over the under lien
amount to carryout usual transactions. That’s not all, with Vishmitha;
it also offers its customers to a visa enabled ATM/Debit card which
gives access to their account through over 1000 Visa enabled ATM’s
across the island.
It’s also important to remember that once the habit of savings is
developed you will find that it comes easier to you and it can provide
peace of mind, since you know that you will have a backup in difficult
times.
NDB Bank believes its “Vishmitha” Savings Account is dramatically
reducing the pressure on the customer unlike traditional savings as it
enables its account holders spend while saving for tomorrow.
