Pantaleon Algama passes away

The death occurred of Pantaleon Algama after a brief illness yesterday. He is the father of Samantha Algama former media manager of Sri Lanka Cricket.

He was 73 at the time of his death. Pantaleon was an outstanding opening batsman for St. Anthony's College, Wattala in the mid fifties, also captaining the team and scoring heavily.

Pantaleon was later President of Old Antonians Sports Club and vice President of Gampaha District Cricket Association. Cortege will leave residence at 4 p.m. for burial at the Wattala Cemetery. May his soul rest in peace.
