MIG Retail Summit today
The retail sector Market Interest Group (MIG) of The Chartered
Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Region has organized a retail summit
under the theme "Delivering Retail Wins - Through Great Supply Chain
Strategies, Retail Thinking and Shopper Understanding" and will be held
today (7) from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm at Waters Edge, Battaramulla.
The Summit will be addressed by Consultant, Supply Chainlabs,
Vietnam, Teiman Nieuwoudt, Customer Development Director of Unilever Sri
Lanka & Head of Corporate Integration and Market Interest Groups of CIM
Sri Lanka Region, Asanga Ranasinghe and Trade & Shopper Marketing
Director of Ogilvy Action, Asia Pacific Region, Manila Khuller.
While the retail sector is fairly mature in their endeavours in
marketing themselves, the traditional retailer is well behind in
approaching his business in a professional manner. The MIG Retail Sector
of The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Sri Lanka Region has identified
the need for the further development of these skills within the retail
community.
The event will explore the four pillars of modern trade, i.e.,
shopper understanding, Supply Chain Management, Point of Purchase (POP)
and conflict to collaboration; illustrated through various case studies
around the world. |
