Synapsys hosts Business Forum on market trends

Synapsys Ltd., an IT consultancy and solutions company, hosted a launch and business forum recently bringing together industry experts from the region who provided insight into current market trends.

The focus of the launch was "Navigating a Shifting Terrain: Insights into Competing in a Changing Marketplace" and featured speakers such as Regional Director, SAGE - West, Oracle Corporation Samina Rizwan, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, APAC, Fiserv Matthew Togher, Regional Sales Manager for Sungard in AisaPac Soju Skariah and Aravinth Kumarasamy, the invitees included professionals representing leading Sri Lankan corporations.

"This event was an opportunity for us to introduce Synapsys to the Sri Lankan market, and more importantly, to showcase our philosophy of combining a knowledge of market trends with hands-on experience, giving our clients real and workable solutions that are ahead of the game," said CEO Synapsys Ltd. Dinesh Fernandopulle.

He added that given the current financial climate, market players' goals should be to reap maximum benefit from their IT investments. The event was focused on offering real value to the audience through valuable insights and experiences shared by the speakers, providing perceptions on current trends, empowering the audience with new directions to compete in a changing and consumer-driven market.

The highlight of the evening was a keynote presentation by Cyrus Daruwala, Managing Director of Financial Insights APAC (an IDC Company). His core message was simple...he says, at the end of the day, "a customer is a set of data and the key to success is the best use of that data".

The stark reality for Sri Lankan companies is that the lines between industries are blurring, banks for example no longer compete only with other banks they now have to compete with Telecom Service Providers who are delivering financial services to customers, he said. He added that, therefore the time to think differently is now - the time to adopt the right technologies that help you use your customer data best is now.

This theme was echoed in other presentations as well, while internet and mobile-based services and solutions were highlighted as one of the core trends with a potential to further grow a company's profitability.
