Kandy York edge out Super Beach

In a game of mixed fortunes and exciting soccer, Kandy York Sports Club edged out Super Beach Sports Club, Kalutara 1 - 0 in their Dialog premier league tournament match organised by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka and played at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy on Sunday.

At half time Kandy York SC led 1 - 0. Though they triumphed it was a game of missed opportunities for Kandy York SC as they dominated the game territorially as they enjoyed a lot of possession keeping play inside their opponents territory for most part of the game.

But they could not penetrate the defence put up by their opponents. The visitors on the other hand had three straight forward opportunities as they were awarded three free kicks just outside the ‘penalty box’ but could not convert them into goals. Kandy York Sports Club scored their winning goal through centre forward M.B. Keerthi mid way in the first half.
