NCPC UNP vacancies to be filled

The United National Party has made arrangements to fill the three
vacancies of the North Central Provincial Council caused following the
deaths of Opposition Leader Major General Janaka Perera, A. Anurdeen and
Sunil Dissanayake. The three died in the suicide bomb blast at the
opening of the council’s Opposition Leader’s new office in Anuradhapuara
on October 6.
Rohana Gamage who obtained 12,769 preferential votes at the
provincial election was sworn in as a UNP provincial council member
before North Central Governor Karunaratne Divulgane at the Governor’s
office.
K.B. Tennakoon and A.B. Gunasekera who secured 13,058 and 12,357
preferential votes at the Provincial Council Elections are due to be
sworn in as UNP Provincial Council members shortly.
