Lankan born Priddis 'no regrets' after Idol booting
Sri Lankan born singer Roshani Priddis has no regrets after being
evicted from Australian Idol and says she's looking forward to "working
hard" in Sydney and making a name for herself as a soul-funk artist
after being booted from the Network Ten TV show on Monday night.
"I'm looking forward to really working hard, and kind of riding the
wave," Priddis said. And now that I've got this chance ... I'm not going
to let it slip and sit on my bum".
It's the best chance for young artists to get exposure, and I never
thought I'd make it this far. The pint-sized Priddis, born in Sri Lanka
and raised in Tamworth in northern NSW, said she was planning to hit the
ground running as she bases herself in Sydney.
She said the Idol experience provided a great chance for her to
launch her career. Working with some of the best people in the industry
as well as meeting established pop stars was a highlight. "I mean
singing on national television every Sunday night was my job, and I
really enjoyed it."
"It was really good to meet with Darren (Hayes) and Cindi (Lauper)
and the INXS boys," she said. AAP
