Lanka in sovereign action against terror group - Congress
The Congress said there should be no interference with the military
action in Sri Lanka against LTTE but the party was for providing all
possible help to civilians and the internally displaced.
"Congress stands for every possible material and logical help to all
civilians and internally displaced persons," party spokesman Abhishek
Singhvi told reporters.
The party, however, refused to take a stand on the military action
against the LTTE by the Sri Lankan Army.
"Congress believes that sovereign action against a terrorist
organisation, which remains banned by Indian laws, should not be
interfered with by another sovereign country," Singhvi added.
