Ceylinco Development Bank (CDB), celebrated 13 years of nurturing Sri
Lankan entrepreneurs last month. CDB was incorporated in 1995 with Dr.
Lalith Kotelawala’s vision of strengthening Sri Lankan entrepreneurs and
thereby to make a contribution to build our nations economy.
With a short life span of 13 years, CDB has progressed well,
reflecting growth in all areas of business. The celebration was marked
by gifting an IT lab to Sangamitha Balika Vidyalaya in Kirindiwela as
part of CDB’s ethos in CSR, to support education in rural and less
privileged schools.
This was the first project undertaken by CDB under their CSR
initiative named “CDB Technology Centre”. The school selection was done
with the assistance of education ministry, targeting rural areas and the
importance of enthusing IT education to the society.
The main objective of this project is to provide information
technology learning facilities to the said target schools in the country
and to educate students to face the future which will be of
