Infotel 2008 begins on October 31

The much awaited premier Information Communication Technology event Infotel 2008 aims to bring together Sri Lanka's ICT community including industry experts, professionals, academics and the user community.

The nation's top industry leaders will showcase their latest developments and projects as a part of the ICT Week and the four-day spectacular IT extravagansa will commence on October 31 at the BMICH and will be open from 10am to 8pm.

This is Infotel's 9th exhibition and this year's theme is "The Future Is Here". A Careers Service stall at the exhibition is designed to enhance the theme.

The stall will provide information for school leavers and university graduates on the latest developments in the ICT industry, what it can offer as a career path and information on the training opportunities in the sector.

Infotel Chairman, Roshan Rasool said: "The ICT industry is constantly growing in Sri Lanka and is a booming career choice. We hope that Infotel 2008 will inspire the younger generation to seriously consider the ICT industry as a rewarding and exciting career path".

This year's strategic partner is Dialog Telekom and the company will showcase their latest developments at the exhibition including the SATNav, Phone Back-up and WIMAX.

The SATNav is a navigation device for vehicles with a digital street directory of Sri Lanka that locates whereabouts through satellite coordinates.
