Sakvithi suspects granted bail

Gangodawila Chief Magistrate Wasantha Jinadasa yesterday released six
suspects involved in the massive financial fraud perpetrated by Sakvithi
Ranasinghe on cash bail with two sureties for each suspect.
The Magistrate granted bail on them with Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 1 million
sureties for each suspect and took their passports to the custody of
courts.
The Police stated that indictments against these suspects will be
filed on the instruction of Attorney General department and the CID as
these suspects had been employed in the Sakvithi Investment Limited and
involved in this financial scam.
The suspects were also ordered to appear at the CID next Friday and
extend their cooperation when required to the Department in connection
with the ongoing investigations.
The Magistrate directed them to appear at the Mirihana Fraud
Detection Bureau each Sunday.
