Traffic policemen receive certificates

Thirty seven junior traffic police personnel including six police women received certificates after successfully completing the Junior Traffic Management Course at the Police Headquarters on Friday.

The certificates were distributed by Senior DIG Mahinda Balasuriya, Senior DIG Jayantha Gamage, Senior DIG S.K. Shankar, DIG Lalith Jayasinghe, Senior SPs Ranjith Gunasekera, Lucky Peiris, R. Wanaguru, and Dalpadatu. The recipients of certificates had attended the prescribed standard of proficiency, Senior DIG Shankar said.

The Junior Traffic Management Course was organised by Crime Intelligence, Police Narcotics Bureau, Children’s and Women Bureau and Traffic Administration and Road Safety Senior DIG S.K. Shankar assisted by Senior SP Lucky Peiris.

Senior SP Lucky Peiris said that over 32,500 motor accidents had occurred for the last several months in the country.
