The Management Committee of Shinnyo-En Lanka Social and Cultural
Centre will conduct a seminar on 'Modern Japanese vehicle maintenance

Mass shramadana campaign
A mass shramadana campaign for the conservation of Yudaganawa Dagoba
at Buttala, a historical heritage will be held on Tuesday, October 21 on
the initiative of Archaeological Commissioner General Dr. Senarath
Dissanayake. The Archaeological Department appeals to the public to
extend their patronage in participating at this shramadana programme,
donating building materials such as bricks, cement, sand etc. For

The Motor Traffic Accidents Prevention Committee of the Sri Lanka
Medical Association has organised a seminar on 'Fatigue and sleep
related motor traffic accidents' to be held on Thursday, October 30 at
the SLMA Auditorium, No. 6, Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 7 from 9 a.m. to 1
p.m.
Stamp exhibition
An exhibition of stamps organised by the Philatelic Society of Sri
Lanka with participation of schoolchildren of the large number of
philatelic clubs islandwide and adult philatelists will be held from 12
noon to 6 pm on December 5, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on December 6, at
the National Art Gallery, Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, Colombo 7.
The exhibition will consist of competitive exhibits from children and
adults on many themes, and non-competitive exhibits from experienced
philatelists. This section will help viewers to learn about mounting of
stamps, arranging and writing-up a collection under various headings and
themes, - which have enabled many collectors to obtain awards at
exhibitions. Collectors' items have won awards at international
competitions and exhibitions. There will also be vendor booths selling
stamps and accessories.
Colours of Indus
The SAARC Women's Association - Sri Lanka Chapter is organising 'Colours
of Indus' to be held on November 16 at 7 p.m. at the Oak Room, Cinnamon
Grand, Colombo.
The proceeds of the funds will be used for the Children's Heart
Foundation and the improvement of the theatres and clinics in hospitals. |
