'Instal humps and yellow crossings on Main Street'

The parents of school children appeal to the Kegalle Urban Council administration or else the Sabaragamuwa Chief Minister Maheepala Herath to embark on some plan to cause to provide "yellow crossings" in Kegalle town along, Colombo-Kandy highway.

The citizenry in Kegalle town specially the parents of students attending the several national schools in town plead with the relevant authorities to mark the "zebra crossings" or yellow crossings at the earliest possibility in a number of accident prone spots in the main street of Kegalle town.

The parents who are conscious of the many accidents and the numerous fatal injuries the citizenry have faced, prompt them to remind again and again to attend to this most essential need in Kegalle town owing to their instilled fears that their children would be involved in nasty accidents as happened in the past.

They want not only yellow crossings drawn in those risky-spots in the main street but also to install "humps" on either side of the yellow crossings so that a motor vehicle is compelled to slowdown before they come on the yellow crossings.
