Chinese language course

A Chinese language course meant for youth under 29 conducted by the National Youth Services Council will commence at the Mobile Service on October 25 at Mahinda Rajapaksa grounds, Tangalle.

As the Hambantota harbour is constructed by a Chinese company with funds from the Chinese Government, Chinese langauge will be an important factor in securing employment in the harbour project.

According to instructions given by the President, the NYSC has planned to start this Chinese language course. 25 participants have been already selected for the first batch, commencing on October 25 at the Mobile Service at Tangalle Mahinda Rajapaksa grounds. A 15 day training course will be conducted at the National Youth Centre Maharagama and weekend classes will be held at Hambantota for six months and the trainees will be absorbed into Hambantota harbour project as apprentices.
