IBSL convention
The 13 annual Convocation of the Institute of bankers of Sri Lanka is
scheduled to be held on October 24 at BMICH from 5.00 p.m. onwards.
IBSL will award around 300 certificates, diplomas, cash Prizes and
gold medals to those who completed IBSL professional examinations in
Banking and Finance held last September and March 2008 and Post Graduate
Executive Diplomas in Bank Management.
It is customary for the Institute to recognise the outstanding
contributions made by senior bankers to the banking industry by
admitting them as Fellows or honorary Fellows of the Institute.
Convocation will be attended by the Chairman and the Members of
Governing Board of the Institute and Chairman and Chief Executive
Officers of the Banks, Financial Institutions.
The Bankers Training Institute (BTI) was created in January 1964 and
began its actual functioning in late January 1964 by commencing
short-term courses for selected groups of employees from each bank.
Another significant achievement of the IBSL is expanding the
International partnership with another foreign University from 2007.
Chief Guest will be, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Learning and Teaching),
Northumbria University UK Professor Craig Mahoney. Guest of Honour is
Dr. Deputy Governor Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Ranee Jayamaha. |
