Colombo and Wattala victorious

Colombo and Wattala cagers recorded wins in yesterday's encounters in the Otters Diamond Jubilee Invitation Basketball Tournament which is now in progress at the Otters Club courts.

Colombo Basketball Team defeated Police Cagers 77-47. The half time scores read 39-19 in favour of the winners. Jagath Kulathunga who was adjudged the best player of the match, made the biggest contribution for the winners with 27 points while Chamath Danawansa too helped to swell the winners' total with 11 points. Amaan Razak (12 points) was the best for the losers.

Channa Perera and Panduka Ranasinghe refereed.

In another game, Wattala cagers routed Buffaloes 81-69. Wattala team was in front from the beginning and the half time scores were 41-34.

Sanketha Jayarathna was the best shooter for Wattala with 20 points well supported by Maxwel Sampath who was named the player of the match. Pavithra Obesekera (17 points) was the best shooter for the losers.
