Leadership workshop for CP women in Kerala

A delegation of 19 women and three officials from the Central
Province left for Kerala in India on a study tour on leadership, trade
and management on Friday. It was initiated by Central Province
Industries, Sports, Rural Development and Women Affairs Minister S.
Arulsamy.
The tour from September 21 to 24 is co-ordinated by the Indian
Assistant High Commissioner in Sri Lanka based in Kandy.
This move is supported by Central Province Chief Minister Sarath
Ekanayake.
Arulsamy said this is a historic occasion and the participants will
benefit immensely from their tour. They in turn will pass on the
knowledge gained to other members as well.
The delegation comprises members of the Women’s Organisations in the
Province. He said the State of Kerala is one of the most advancedStates.
The delegation will also attend workshops on women’s leadership and
management.
They will also be taught to grapple with problems concerning women.
He said India being our neighbour and having similar features is always
willing to help Sri Lanka. The delegates will also make a study of trade
and industries in Kerala. |
