Chalitha ranked number one

Former three times national Table Tennis champion K.S.T. Chalitha Ranjana of Seylan Bank has been ranked as the number one player in the island according to the rankings announced by the Sri Lanka Table Tennis Association this year.

Chalitha is an old boy of Sri Devananda College, Ambalangoda which has produced many top paddlers in the island.

Chalitha won many titles while boosting his rankings by winning many tournaments this year. He had a memorable outing at Commonwealth Games Table Tennis Championships which was held in Malaysia by clinching bronze medal in the year 2004.

Chalitha is the current Sri Lankan Table Tennis captain as well. He also has been adjudged the best player in the years 2000, 2002 and 2004.

Chalitha is very much grateful to Shirley de Silva and Ajith Pasquel of Seylan Bank who have been source of inspiration throughout his career.

Rohan Sirisena of St. John's Sports Club has become the number two player while Indika Prasad of the same club has earned the third place.
