Landslide kills one

One worker died and another critically injured following a landslide at Kahamba, Pilimatalawa.

The injured person is receiving treatment at the Kandy hospital intensive care unit. The body of G. G. Lionel, 38, of Pamunuwa was retrieved from the debris. The men were members of a group of workers engaged in laying underground water pipes. A private company is in charge of the pipe-laying project.
